Jason Wu's strong 80s silhouette was styled so cleanly, the feeling was one of pure beauty and power. Seeing this shoulder worn as a statement piece in a look – sans the colorful baubles and shiny bits that were the hallmark of 80s fashion – made it seem, actually, feminine. A minimal black, white and red palette let the eye focus on texture and form in the collection. In past seasons, silhouette was a means to an ends: who can forget 2012's endless parade of digital prints? It's refreshing to put down the kaleidoscopes and notice what's lovely about a well-tailored trouser. Particularly one that's worn in the most modern Jason Wu way: under an evening dress.
