The Lanvin show had its own pre show entertainment, as Paris was covered with a crisp blanket of snow overnight, our car sliding over icy slush to get to the Left Bank for our first show of the day.

Today saw sheer shirts, trompe l'oeil leather, and desirable coat after coat after coat, dressed down with trainers or fencing boots, the collection being as pensive, clever as usual and modest about its studiousness – top marks for a bright spark.
