The Belgium-trained, Parisian-based accessories designer has made it her mission to cover all manner of accessories in the finest lambskin. As part of her S/S 09 collection, she achieves a leather first by creating a rock band from the grave. Three skeletons, a drum set, guitar, amp and mic have all been expertly clad in black leather requiring 500 hours of work to cover just one skeleton and 70 skins to cover the whole installation. During Paris Fashion Week in October, the band played a silent gig in the windows of eponymous Parisian store Maria Luisa and now the band is being flown to Miami for Art Basel from 2nd to the 10th December to play at the store Alchemist. The tour continues next year as the band will then make its way to Barney's, New York, Dusseldorf in January, Copenhagen Fashion Week in February at the store Paris Texas, Vienna in March at Park, Montreal in April at Reborn, Hong Kong in May at On Pedder and then onto Singapore and Sydney. Each piece of the rock band will be available to buy in limited editions and will come with in its own customised flight case complete with a certificate of authenticity signed by Natalia Brilli.
