As someone who went for the first time this year, I can confirm the vibes are as chaotic as you might imagine. After all, what else can you expect when you gather over 125,000 celebrities, influencers and music-lovers in the desert? Like other music festivals, Coachella is all about endurance – making sure you wear comfortable shoes and drink enough water. Unlike other festivals, however, the partying doesn’t stop after the last act leaves the stage. As one of the most star-studded festivals, Coachella sees plenty of afterparties, with artists and attendees keeping the vibes going late into the night. One of the most anticipated post-games is thrown by GUESS, which, for the fifth year in a row, hosted a function for those determined enough to keep the dancing going. Held on Friday, April 10, GUESS’s exclusive party was held at the brand’s iconic GUESS compound, which, over the course of the festival weekend, houses celebrities, creators and friends of the brand. Surrounded by palm trees, space heaters and dimmed red lights, the outdoor party had the vibes of a neighbourhood kickback – that is, if Evan Mock, Jake Shane and Quenlin Blackwell were your neighbours. Below, we break down everything that happened at the post-festival event. THERE WERE PLENTY OF FAMILIAR FACES Photography Myles Hendrik To kick off Coachella weekend, stars showed up and showed out. Even artists who were set to take the stage the next day, like Pink Pantheress, who obviously stayed strapped with her purse all night, made an effort to stop by. There were plenty of creators in attendance, including Alix Earle, Bretman Rock and Emma Chamberlain, along with on-screen favourites like Teyana Taylor, True Whitaker and Laura Harrier. THE MUSIC WAS OBVIOUSLY BUMPING Photography Myles Hendrik What’s a music festival after party without, well, music? The tone of the night was set by the DJs, including Kitty Ca$h. At one point, even Kaytranada jumped on the tracks. THE FOOD DIDN'T DISAPPOINT Photography Myles Hendrik The best way to ensure your afterparty is a success? Offer snacks, obviously. A SONIC food truck parked out front handed out corn dogs, tater tots and popcorn chicken, providing a much-needed energy boost after a long day of festival-ing. ‘GUESS’ WHO HAD THE BEST DRIP Photography Myles Hendrik Unsurprisingly, plenty of guests were decked out in GUESS and GUESS Jeans. From baggy jeans to comfy crewnecks, there was no shortage of the brand’s latest and greatest in the building. Escape the algorithm!
