May starts off in Taurus season, acting as our invitation to indulge in the sensual, to elevate our aesthetic standards, and slow down. Represented by the Bull, Taurus is steady, deliberate and deeply attuned to the material world. It reminds us that beauty is not a luxury, but a necessity. Over the course of this season, we’re asked to return to the body, examine what we value, and refine our taste, not just in things but in the lives we choose to build. If Aries season was the spark – the bold discovery of new terrain – Taurus arrives to ground us into the richest soil. Here, we plant intentions with patience, mapping our path toward prosperity. It’s a time to prune the excess, clear the noise, and clarify what we truly want to see bloom.

Pleasure and self-expression take on an impulsive edge as we start the month with Venus in Aries, letting our instincts lead in love, beauty and desire. There’s no time for overthinking – only bold moves, as we follow flirtatious sparks towards shiny new connections. Then, on May 2, Venus meets Neptune in Aries, blurring the edges between fantasy and reality. This is a fleeting but potent moment of rose-colored impulsivity – where longing merges with illusion, and our desires take on a dreamlike, spiritual glow. Be mindful: what we’re drawn to under this transit may not be what it seems, but it will reveal something vital about our approach to love.

Mercury enters Taurus on May 10, and we have help landing back in our bodies. Our communication becomes more intentional, our thinking more tactile. Around the same time, the Sun moves toward a conjunction with Uranus – the planet of breakthroughs, tech upgrades and unexpected plot twists. Major realisations could strike seemingly out of nowhere. This is the kind of astrology that delivers intuitive downloads mid-shower or changes your direction mid-convo, as your body may know something before your brain does.

On May 12, the Full Moon in steamy, sultry Scorpio rises to illuminate what’s been simmering beneath the surface. Hidden desires, power plays and quiet obsessions are brought into the light

On May 12, the Full Moon in steamy, sultry Scorpio rises to illuminate what’s been simmering beneath the surface. Hidden desires, power plays and quiet obsessions are brought into the light, asking us to get honest about where we’ve been too attached to something, especially if it’s been at the expense of our self-worth. Changes are on the horizon when the Sun moves into Gemini on the 20th, replacing our need for slow, sensual satisfaction with chaotic curiosity. We feel compelled to follow experiences that tell a good story, rather than those that supply us with safety and security. It’s the perfect time for experimenting, learning and relaying our findings to anyone within earshot.

Then, on May 24, slow-moving Saturn, planet of discipline and boundaries, enters Aries. If Aries takes risks, Saturn provides the rules. This is where we may be forced to confront the consequences if we avoid taking necessary action. Under this transit, we are encouraged to start new projects and ventures, and master the art of taking calculated risks. New beginnings are on the table, but they’ll demand structure, independence and commitment. Saturn stays in Aries until August 1, when it backs into Pisces, so think of this period as an action-packed teaser for the upcoming year.

The month culminates with a New Moon in ambidextrous Gemini on the 26th, offering a fresh perspective through our words, questions and conversations. Gemini rules the mind, the media and the messages we send out into the world. This lunation is perfect for setting intentions around curiosity, creative thinking and staying open to duality. Our words carry special weight during this time, so speak clearly – and speak to what you want more of. This is a portal for intention-setting through language, storytelling and perspective.
