Instead, users on the app are using suncream, colour theory, and – now hitting our FYP’s – drawn on rainbow-shaped lines to perfect their contours. Popularised by TikTok beauty influencers @rikkisandhu and @serenalakkiss, the ‘rainbow contour’ technique involves drawing stripes of cream blush, concealer, and contour in a rainbow shape across your forehead, nose, jawline, and cheekbones. In some videos, the look is swiped on with Charlotte Tilbury's viral Light Wand products, however, others opt for more cost-efficient brands like Elf, NYX, and Glossier. After spritzing your face with setting spray and blending with a damp beauty blender, the lines quickly melt in a natural, dewy full face, without having to use any foundation. In her video, which racked up over 1.5 million views, @rikkisandhu – who often tests out new beauty hacks – noted that the technique was “by far one of the BEST contouring and highlighting techniques I have everrrr used!!” Some users expressed hesitations about the technique in the comments. One user noted: “Y’all make it look so easy!! if i tried this i would somehow look like a clown.” Another stated that the tutorial won’t “work for every face shape”. Others, however, said that they liked how the look blended together. Another video by TikToker @kobe.onye shows the look on a darker skin tone, using a bright orange Glossier Cloud Paint in Dawn, NARS Radiant concealer, and Glossier’s Solar Paint bronzer. “I feel like this look incorporates everything pretty seamlessly,” he said in the clip. In the comments, one user wrote: “Wow it really (looks good)! I’ve been sceptical seeing this on non white skin tones so I actually might try this now.” Check out the rainbow contour beauty hack below. Escape the algorithm!
