But while we can embrace some aspects of Y2K fever with open arms, there’s other, more questionable relics of the past decade that should remain buried. Arguably one of the most controversial trends of the noughties, concealer lips are back. And while it’s safe to say that make-up has come a long way since the days of Dream Matte Mousse and Barry M, we can’t help but shudder at the memory of our poor lips caked within an inch of their lives. On TikTok, however, it seems that beauty influencers are reviving the decades-old trend. Admittedly, the final result is infinitely better than the OG look – the clips show users combining two shades of concealer to create an ombre look, or using concealer with lipstick for a similar effect.
