Prepare your emo side fringes! My Chemical Romance is officially dropping a make-up collection inspired by their 2010 album Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys.
In collaboration with cosmetics brand HipDot, the range will include an eye shadow palette in bright neons and silver and blue glitters, eyeliner duo, eye primer, and lip glosses in red, yellow, green, and blue – plenty of material to recreate Gerard Way’s signature smudgy eye looks. Each product is packaged up with imagery of apocalyptic landscapes and silver spiders as an ode to the ‘Danger Days’ album art. The lip glosses, however, are modelled after the Killjoys’ ray guns in the iconic “Na Na Na” music video.
Last year, My Chemical Romance released their first collection with HipDot, which featured a double sided liquid liner, eyeshadow brush, and nine-shade eyeshadow palette full of dark red, purple, silver, and black shades – all inspired by the band’s Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge era. When the collection dropped in December, it sold out in under two minutes – resulting in many fans unable to purchase. “Okay, but MCR’s power though!” said one fan on Twitter, who missed out on the launch.
Now, instead of a drop, the ‘Danger Days’ range will be made-to-order, featuring a collectors set which includes all products in the range.
“We’re doing things differently this time around to (ensure) FANS get a chance to reserve their Limited Edition #HIPDOTxMCR 2 Collectors Set,” HipDot explained on Twitter. “All Collectors Sets will be made-to-order just for you!”
The MCR x HipDot collection is available online here for pre-orders, beginning July 22 - July 29.
