Here at Dazed Beauty we like to keep you abreast of all vulva-related pop culture news so it is with considerable delight that we bring you the information that Cara Delevingne is selling an NFT of her vagina. Yes, that headline sounds like it was created by a random word generator, but then don’t all headlines about NFTs? 

The model, actress, and sex toy company co-owner is getting in on the NFT action with a 30 second long clip. In the video, Delevingne can be seen standing in front of the ocean, bare-faced and nude. “My first word was ‘mine,’” she says in a soothing ASMR voice. “To me that means something that is most mine – my vagina. I own it. It’s mine and no one else’s. I choose what I do with it. And no one can take that away from me.” It’s an admirable message of ownership of one’s own body, perhaps only slightly undermined by the fact that the video is up for sale. 

The piece comes in collaboration with anonymous artist Chemical X, who once created two giant murals out of 10,000 ecstasy pills, as part of their new curated collection of unique NFT artworks. As well as Delevingne, the series will feature Fatboy Slim, Dave Stewart of the Eurythmics, and electronic duo Orbital. 

“This #1 is a powerful yet personal statement of intention,” the website says. “Cara’s support for women and girls and the LGBTQ community is one of the driving forces behind her foundation and her decision to make this artwork with Chemical X.”

Launched today, bidding will last for seven days and all of the proceeds will go to the Cara Delevingne Foundation which supports women’s rights, the LGBTQ+ community, mental health, and environmental causes. With prices of NFTs reaching insane heights over the last couple of months – who amongst us wouldn’t pay $6.6 million to own an animated gif of Trump’s naked corpse? – we have no doubt that Delevingne will be raising a lot of good money for her foundation with this new piece.
