WHY SHOULD I CARE?
I first came across this product on Pat’s Instagram where she showcases her products in those blurry, sparkly clips of the make-up application, on what I strongly believe to be a silicone doll.
I was instantly taken aback by how these highlighters performed. With a shifting toned pink, a green and yellow toned gold, and a multi-dimensional cool toned bronze, this pallet suits every skin tone and type. As a make-up artist I have found highlighters are difficult to get right – some can look very flat and actually void of colour if the light doesn’t catch it right, or even create a gristly texture on the skin surface. These exceptionally fine-milled creamy powder highlighters become one with the skin, giving it an unnatural, natural glow.
After over a year of using this product I have decided no other pressed powder highlight formula equals this one. I like to use the green gold and bronze shades over the high points of the face, more like a conventional highlight – the tip of the nose and eyelids are areas in particular I love to accentuate. The pink shade with its iridescence is perfect to layer over matte shadows on the eye to create a multi dimensional light capturing glow, but really can and should be used anywhere and everywhere. I also love all the shades stamped over greasepaint colours if you want to take a block colour look into a shiny dream. I like to use a tapered synthetic fluffy brush but this product can be applied just as beautifully with your fingers.
Pat McGrath does not play around when it comes to quality and the brand's promise of “ethereal luminosity and metallic brilliance” will give your skin that high fashion barely-there-but-giving-everything look.
