According to TV Line, the breakout star will once again be a series regular for the hotly anticipated follow-up, despite – spoilers ahead – meeting a dubious end in the last season. While a comeback for the character was hinted at in the final scenes of the last episode, doubt was cast after executive producers Matt and Ross Duffer appeared undecided in a recent interview. “We don't know about Eleven,” they admitted to Variety earlier this year. “We leave that up in the air.” Fortunately, while Netflix is yet to make it official, sources have now confirmed to TV Line that Brown will “indeed” be returning to the show. The actress herself also dropped heavy hints about the return on Instagram last week, posting a picture of her alongside David Harbour (who played Sheriff Hopper in the original series). “Don't say a word! #s02 #strangerthings,” she wrote cryptically in the caption. Brown will join confirmed returning cast members Gaten Matarazzo (Dustin), Joe Keery (Steve), Noah Schnapp (Will), Finn Wolfhard (Mike Wheeler) and Winona Ryder (Joyce Myers). The show’s second season is set to premiere on Netflix in 2017. Escape the algorithm! Get The DropEmail address SIGN UP Get must-see stories direct to your inbox every weekday.
