Arts+Culture / NewsWatch Barack Obama on Zach Galifianakis' Between Two FernsIs he the first US President to appear on an online comedy show? Doesn't he have better things to do?ShareLink copied ✔️March 11, 2014Arts+CultureNewsTextZing Tsjeng In a surprise announcement yesterday, comedy network Funny or Die announced that Barack Obama would appear on Between Two Ferns, the notoriously awkward joke interview show hosted by Zach Galifianakis. And now, you can watch the President of the United States bat away questions about Dennis Rodman being the US Ambassador to North Korea and the occasional zinger courtesy of Galifianakis ("Where are you building your presidential library – in Hawaii or your home country of Kenya?"). We're not sure why the POTUS agreed to this show, seeing as he probably has better things to do, like run a country or something – but his extended monologue in the segment about healthcare.gov and how it's relevant to young people might play some part. The Funny or Die audience skews pretty young, obviously, and this might be Obama's way of reaching out to young voters, who have begun to abandon their support for the politician. At least Zach Galifianakis got to meet Obama, which is nice for him.
