This year's Converse/Dazed Emerging Artists Award opened last week at 37 Heneage St, E1 7LJ, a five minute walk from Whitechapel Gallery, this year's partners on the project. The judges panel and shortlisted artists Bruce Ingram, Gabriele Beveridge, Ellie Harrison, Samuel Levack, Jennifer Lewandowski, Richard Parry and Converse and Dazed's friends and family got together to check out a multidisciplinary show, which is open to the public until October 23, 2011, from Wednesdays to Sundays. With a pop-up bar next door, guests enjoyed fresh mojito cocktails made with three year old Havana Club, and Absinthe fountains poured Green Beast cocktails. Moving on to a party at the Shoreditch House roof gardens, Feeding Time and Dazed's Visual Arts editor Fran Gavin wrestled the wheels of steel to play out some 'now that's what I call bump 'n grind' classics.
