A breakout star of NYFW, the Texan teen is quickly becoming one of the industry’s most recognisable faces

The arresting look of Texas-born model Sara Grace Wallerstedt was so striking that, when she debuted as a Proenza Schouler exclusive in spring 2016, Vogue promptly labelled her the show’s breakout star. Their prediction was on the money: with a slew of high-profile runways and glossy editorials now under her belt, Wallerstedt has proved that she’s destined for far more than 15 minutes of fame.
Unusually, given her conspicuous allure, Wallerstedt wasn’t scouted on the street – she secured her contract after attending an open casting call in Dallas. This determination to make it in modelling has defined her first year in the industry: she told Vogue that she is studiously trying to develop a distinctive walk (often while out walking her pet dachshund) and that her greatest ambition is to work with Dior. Having already walked for Calvin Klein and twice for Prada (the freckled beauty closed their AW17 show), it seems likely that it won’t be long before she fulfils that dream and many others.
