This is what happens when you ask Belgian-born Hanne Gaby Odiele to style herself. Renowned for her eclectic dress sense, the model is as famous for her unrelenting presence on street style blogs she is for her frenetic energy on set. With Alexander Wang on speed-dial and a killer career walking shows from McQueen to Dior, it’s not surprising that she’s ended up with a pretty enviable wardrobe. Now moving into styling, expect whatever she works on to be infused with her eccentric charm.

What was your defining pop culture moment of 2014?

Hanne Gaby Odiele: Kimye’s wedding.

How would you sum up what you do in a sentence?

Hanne Gaby Odiele: I travel the world and come in peace.

What’s your favourite song and movie of 2014?

Hanne Gaby Odiele: A$AP Mob, “Hella Hoes”. A couple of girlfriends and I changed the words into “I walk shows” – it was last season’s anthem.

How do you think style and pop culture will change in 2015?

Hanne Gaby Odiele: I think the line between celebrity and obscurity will continue to dissolve.

In 15 words, sum up what we can expect from you in 2015.

Hanne Gaby Odiele: I have few collabs coming out in 2015 I’m excited about – hopefully more to come.

What new skill did you learn this year?

Hanne Gaby Odiele: Flipping the perfect pancake, driving an ATV in Costa Rica.

What’s the most surprising thing we’d find out if we looked at your phone?

Hanne Gaby Odiele: I get shocked by the amount of unread emails I have to go through every time.
