If the UK’s nightlife scene is a grenade, Ms Carrie Stacks is the pink-hued pin saving it from exploding. From London (with love) the artist, DJ and musician brings a hurricane of hedonism to cities all over the globe, able as she is to bring even the deadest of dancefloors to life.
Her personal journey through the night started with PDA, the genre-mashing party that became, over time, the beating heart of outer-limits fashion. Nowadays, Stacks makes luscious, flowering post-electronica that stands as fitting music for the metaverse.
As she gears up to release new music in the autumn, Stacks drills into her timeline, and the fantasies that power her forward.
Carrie Stacks: Early memories… I think music is my first love, I know my mother would sing to me loads and growing up in the type of church I did, it’s music Sunday, Wednesday, Friday, and all the in-betweens. I recently remembered this very emotional, special service Easter medley that my cousins and sisters would sing. My eyes would fill with tears when they broke into these Clark sisters harmonies.
How do you get your lashes on with your nails?
Carrie Stacks: I can put lashes on without a mirror. Pretty much nothing will stop me from receiving the power of the lash.
In a parallel universe, what would you be doing right now?
Carrie Stacks: Life.
What would you tell your younger self?
Carrie Stacks: ‘I got you babe, we’ve got this. You’re OK. I love you, you can do whatever you want. You’re not alone.’ Things of that nature.

What's your fantasy?
Carrie Stacks: To lick you from your head to your toes! OK, joking… kinda… um, I think I’m in my fantasy, or at least I try my best to stay in or as close as possible to my fantasy. It’s where the impossibilities are possible and ‘difficult’ is just ‘easy’.
Describe your sound in three words.
Carrie Stacks: Das my shit! Thru the roof.
What advice would you give to the next generation of cultural and nightlife tastemakers?
Carrie Stacks: Um… I guess have fun. Push. To hold the ceremonies as sacred and that community is everything.
If you could have any three wishes come true, what would they be?
Carrie Stacks: I’d wish away fear, wish in more love for us all, and maybe wish I had a few more wishes.
