Dominic Fike and Lil Nas X in Brockhampton’s ‘Count On Me’

Watch Lil Nas X and Dominic Fike make out in Brockhampton’s new video

The pair star in the Kevin Abstract and Dan Streit-directed video for ‘Count On Me’

Taking time out from lap dancing for the devil, Lil Nas X has taken Dominic Fike on vacation for a trippy make out session in the woods. The picture-perfect scene is – sadly – not reality, but the setting of Brockhampton’s latest single, “Count On Me”.

The Kevin Abstract and Dan Streit-directed video sees Lil Nas and Fike discuss their music tastes – “Who the fuck is Radiohead?” jokes Nas – as they drive across the countryside to a forest, where the video takes a hallucinatory turn.

Released earlier this month, “Count On Me” features vocals by Shawn Mendes and Ryan Beatty, while A$AP Rocky is credited as a co-writer. The new clip follows last month’s video for the Danny Brown-featuring “Buzzcut”, which was also directed by Abstract and Streit. Both tracks appear on the group’s new album, Roadrunner: New Light, New Machine, which was released last Friday (April 9).

The video comes as Lil Nas prepares to upload his new single, “Montero (Call Me By Your Name)”, to Pornhub after reports that its days on major streaming services might be numbered. The track has faced a number of controversies since it was released last month – first, it pissed off conservative commentators who weren’t happy with its raunchy video, then it pissed off Nike after Nas released a customised pair of trainers that contained a drop of human blood. The video’s similarities to FKA twigs’ “cellophane” were also called out, but were addressed very maturely by both parties. Controversies aside, the track is a huge success, and now has its own video game and a lo-fi remix version.
