A round-up of the best Lady Gaga ‘Chromatica II’ transition memes

The interlude, which transitions into ‘911’, is now being used to soundtrack your fave cultural moments, from Coronation Street to Mean Girls

It’s been exactly a month since Lady Gaga released her sixth studio album, Chromatica, and its influence can still be felt on the TL.

Arriving mid-lockdown, the record is full of much-needed dancefloor bangers, save for some instrumental interludes. Each clocking in at under a minute, the interludes are likely there to keep the album high in streaming charts (where shorter songs boost the amount of listens an album has), but Twitter has co-opted them for another reason: memes.

“Chromatica II”, which provides the transition between “Fun Tonight” and arguably the album’s best track, “911”, has been used to soundtrack everything from Regina George getting hit by a bus in Mean Girls, David Bowie’s Labryinth entrance, and that woman throwing a cat in a bin.

Starting slow and building to a room-shaking crescendo, the interlude is the perfect piece of music to add drama to any cultural moment. Here’s a round-up of the best below.
