Billie Eilish wins Best Pop Vocal Album at the Grammys

She beat off competition from Beyoncé, Taylor Swift, and Ariana Grande

Billie Eilish has picked up the Best Pop Vocal Album award for WHEN WE ALL FALL ASLEEP, WHERE DO WE GO? At the 2020 Grammys beating off competition from Beyoncé, Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande, and Ed Sheeran.

WHEN WE ALL FALL ASLEEP, WHERE DO WE GO?, Eilish’s debut LP, was one of Dazed’s favourite albums of 2019 and topped the charts around the world. It was produced in collaboration with her brother, Finneas, who told Billboard in 2019 that: “We made the whole thing in the bedroom… people are often like, ‘When you think about when you first started making music to like now, from a bedroom to a studio’ and we’re like, ‘No. We’re still in the same bedroom’.”

Speaking to Grammy.comEilish said of the record: “I feel like if somebody thinks I have a sound, don't listen to my music, I don't want that. I don't want to be one thing. I want to be everything in one, I guess. So [the album is] sort of just everything that I haven't been yet.”

Eilish is nominated for six Grammys this year including Best New Artist, Song of the Year, and Album of the Year.
