A behind-the-scenes Billie Eilish documentary will be released in 2020

The R.J. Cutler-directed film will follow the 17-year-old after the release of her debut album WHEN WE ALL FALL ASLEEP, WHERE DO WE GO?

Back in March, Billie Eilish released the perhaps the most hyped debut album of 2019, When We Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?, and has since remained in the headlines, with a second, more “experimental” record in the pipeline.

Now, fans will be able to get a behind-the-scenes look at the “bad guy” singer’s life in the spotlight in a documentary, which will arrive on Apple TV+ in the new year.

According to Deadline, the film – which has already been shot – is directed by R.J. Cutler, whose filmography includes The War Room, a documentary about Bill Clinton, and The September Issue on Vogue’s Anna Wintour. For the Eilish documentary, Cutler was granted access to the artist’s private moments with family, as well as behind-the-scenes footage of her public appearances.

The announcement follows Eilish being named Apple Music’s Artist of the Year. She’ll be headlining the first ever Apple Music Awards tonight. Listen to her recent track “everything i wanted” here.
