Lil Nas X goes cyberpunk in the ‘Panini’ music video

Don’t you be a meanie – watch the Blade Runner-esque visual for the rapper’s new single

Lil Nas X has shared a video for “Panini”. It’s his second major music video, following the star-studded official video for “Old Town Road”.

The video takes place in the neon-lit, cyberpunk, Blade Runner-esque world that appears on the cover of Lil Nas X’s 7 EP. Like in Blade Runner, there are a bunch of adverts in this world for IRL companies – let’s hope they don’t get hit by the Blade Runner curse, eh?

Later in the video, Lil Nas X dances alongside some robots that feel very Chappie. All in all, the sci-fi aesthetic is a big departure, visually, from the cowboy imagery of “Old Town Road”.

The video was directed by Mike Diva.
