UK rapper Unknown T charged with murder

The ‘Homerton B’ artist has been charged with the murder of a 20-year-old man in Islington last year, according to reports

Unknown T, the east London artist behind “Homerton B”, one of the UK’s biggest recent rap anthems, has been charged with murder, according to BBC Newsbeat.

The musician, real name Daniel Lena, has been charged with killing 20-year-old Steven Narvaez-Jara in Islington, north London, in January 2018 following a party at a flat. “Homerton B” was released later that year.

Police say they were called to a flat near Old Street Station on January 1, 2018. Narvaez-Jara was found with stab injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Another 20-year-old man found at the scene with stab injuries was taken to hospital and recovered.

Police confirmed to Radio 1 Newsbeat that he has also been charged with violent disorder. Two other men have been charged in relation to the case.

Unknown T recently released “Leave Dat Trap”, featuring AJ Tracey. Drake also brought the rapper on-stage during a London show at the O2 on April 1.

Unknown T’s team did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
