Listen to serpentwithfeet and Ty Dolla $ign’s new track ‘Receipts’

The single is the LA-based artist’s first release since 2018 album soil

Serpentwithfeet has released a new single, featuring none other than Ty Dolla $ign. Called ‘Receipts’, the track is the artist’s first new music since last year’s debut studio album ‘soil’, which featured in Dazed’s list of the best records of 2018

The track, which is described by serpentwithfeet as carrying “a lot of weight”, is “a snapshot of two brothers rhapsodising about unforeseen romance”.

“I began writing ‘Receipts’ when I first moved to Los Angeles last summer. I was and still am mystified by the city – the mountains, the men, the hummingbirds. I played an early demo for Ty Dolla $ign and he asked to join me on the track,” he said in a statement. “Ty is a huge part of my L.A. story so ‘Receipts’ feels like a perfect document.”

The Baltimore-born musician has had a busy year of collaborations. Last month, he performed track ‘blissing me’ as a surprise duet with Björk at her Cornucopia set in New York.
