Listen to two new Thom Yorke songs, ‘Don’t Fear the Light’ and ‘Gawpers’

The Radiohead frontman debuted the new recordings on BBC Radio 3

Last night (April 28), BBC Radio 3’s Unclassified show premiered two new tracks by Thom YorkeRolling Stone reports.

The first, “Don’t Fear the Light”, is Yorke’s first ever piece of classical music, while the second, “Gawpers”, is a song that the Radiohead frontman has been playing live in recent shows. The recordings are taken from Yorke’s ‘Minimalist Dream House’ performance at Philharmonie de Paris earlier this month (April 7), but neither have had their recorded version aired until now.

“Don’t Fear the Light” is a three-part composition for two pianos, electronics, and modular synthesiser. French piano duo Katia and Marielle Labeque, who devised the Minimal Dream House concert, perform the piece. The Unclassified radio show also features new tracks by David Chalmin and Bryce Dessner, who were both also part of Minimalist Dream House.
