Karen O covers the Smashing Pumpkins’ ‘Bullet With Butterfly Wings’

It’s taken from the upcoming Amazon Prime series Hanna

Karen O has covered the Smashing Pumpkins’ “Bullet With Butterfly Wings”, from their album Melon Collie and the Infinite Sadness. The track was recorded for Amazon Prime’s upcoming series Hanna, based on the 2011 film of the same name.

It’s not the first Karen O song from the Hanna soundtrack: the Yeah Yeah Yeahs frontwoman also released its theme song, “Anti-Lullaby”, earlier this month. Where that song was a short, haunting, acoustic number, the “Bullet With Butterfly Wings” cover is far heavier and more industrial. The Pumpkins called the cover “beautiful”.

The series debuts on Amazon Prime on February 3 and stars Esme Creed-Miles. Revisit our 2018 interview with Karen O.
