Watch Robyn have a sensual dance party in her ‘Honey’ video

Come get your honey!

Robyn has spoken about how much the clubbing experience has influenced her stunning, recently released album Honey. You can feel the Ibiza sand under your feet, the bass vibrating the hairs on your sunburnt arms in “Beach2k20”, the club lasers beating against your eyes in the synthy cascades of “Missing U”. She found inspiration in the sets of DJ Koze, Todd Terry and more in the Balearic superclubs. We know she loves to lose herself to dance too – “Dancing On My Own” being one of her most iconic tunes, and the “Call Your Girlfriend” video is pretty much canonical.

Now, the Swedish musician has dropped the long-awaited video for “Honey”, and she dances, surrounded by entranced clubbers, until dawn. The video is directed by Max Vitali, who also directed the “Call Your Girlfriend” visual. Robyn moves among dancers who responded to her casting call from last month, which called for “modern, diverse, interesting and liberated couples and relationships. Heterosexual, LGBTQ+, gender non-conforming, polyamorous” people.

In an announcement tweet, Robyn dedicated the video to “everyone who found a piece of heaven on the dancefloor”.

This week, the artist covered Wham!’s “Last Christmas” in the Live Lounge, and gave a demo-faithful live version of “Honey”. She will also embark on a European, UK and US tour in 2019 to promote her sixth album.
