Watch: Mikey Madison on Anora, Sally Rooney, Tarantino and more

The Anora star gets candid in an exclusive interview filmed during her Dazed cover shoot

A freewheeling fairytale ode to a New York sex worker who falls for the son of the Russian oligarch, Anora won the prestigious Palme d’Or when it premiered at Cannes Film Festival earlier this year. Now hitting cinema screens around the world, critics are already tipping the lead actor Mikey Madison for glory at next year’s Oscars.

In the video above, while on-set for her Dazed cover shoot, Madison breaks down the process behind filming the comedy-thriller hit, from having the role written with her specifically in mind to learning Russian for the shoot (“my grandmother speaks Russian so I already knew some of the swear words”). She also divulges her love for Irish author Sally Rooney and cult alt-rock band Mazzy Star.

See all this and more in the video above.
