Watch the disturbing trailer for A24 pregnancy horror False Positive

Starring Ilana Glazer, Justin Theroux, and Pierce Brosnan, the forthcoming film is a contemporary spin on Rosemary’s Baby

At the start of the trailer for A24 horror False Positive, hopeful mum-to-be Lucy muses: “Am I going to be one of those women who has it all? A career, kids, my old man by my side.” By the end of the clip, as a blood-covered Lucy punches a man in the face, it seems her question has been answered: no.

Directed by John Lee, the film offers a contemporary spin on Rosemary’s Baby, and follows Lucy (portrayed by Ilana Glazer) and her partner Adrian (Justin Theroux) as they seek the help of a fertility doctor after months of failing to get pregnant. Unluckily for them, they stumble upon Dr Hindle (played by Pierce Brosnan), whose initial charm turns sinister after Lucy gets pregnant. Things soon take a dark turn as Lucy sets out to uncover the unsettling truth about Hindle and her own “birth story”.

If the trailer is anything to go by, viewers can expect demonic hallucinations, violence, and a whole lot of chaos.

The film marks a reunion for Lee and Glazer, who worked together on Comedy Central’s Broad City. Also joining the cast is Sullivan Jones, Josh Hamilton, Sophia Bush, Lucy Waters, and Gretchen Mol.

False Positive will premiere on Hulu on June 25. Watch the trailer below.
