Besides encouraging a huge amount of young voters to hit the polls in the 2020 US presidential election, and raising an impressive $3.6 million for the critical upcoming Georgia Senate run-offs, former Georgia governor candidate Stacey Abrams has also been busy solving the Buffy the Vampire Slayer love triangle debate once and for all.
Taking to Twitter on Monday (November 9), Abrams concluded that Spike was the right choice for Buffy (and tbh, agree). “To be fair, Angel was the right boyfriend for Buffy coming into her power,” Abrams responded to a tweet on the subject. “Spike was the right man to be with as she became the power.”
Following the post, cast members from the cult TV show joined in the debate on who Sarah Michelle Gellar’s character should have ended up with. Danny Strong – who played Jonathan on the show – responded agreeing with Abrams, while Adam Busch, who played Warren Mears, tweeted, “Relationships are all about timing”. Tom Lenk, who played Andrew Mells, chimed in with a simple: “Woah.” Basically sums up our thoughts on the subject.
The show’s creator, Joss Whedon, dove into the debate as well, responding to Abrams’ tweet with a passionate, “I AGREE! (during squee).” Alyson Hannigan – who starred as Buffy's best friend, Willow Rosenberg – had other ideas, however. She tweeted, “Actually Buffy should have dated Willow”. We guess the age old Buffy love triangle (or... square?) debate can't be laid to rest, after all. Anyways, time to stream Buffy.
