RuPaul’s Drag Race is getting yet another spin-off series. Having already sashayed into the UK, Canada, and Thailand, the show is heading to the Netherlands for the newly-announced Drag Race Holland.
Set to follow a similar format as the original reality series, the show will kick off with eight episodes later this year.
“I am proud to announce that my beloved Drag Race is coming to you,” RuPaul said in a teaser video, “and with a brand new host. More info coming soon, so you better watch.”
World of Wonder co-founders, Fenton Bailey and Randy Barbato, added in a statement: “We firmly believe in charisma, uniqueness, nerve, and talent, and can’t wait to welcome these ten talented queens into the Drag Race family.”
World of Wonder is the production company behind the original Drag Race, as well as spin-offs, All Stars, RuPaul’s Drag U, and Untucked. The Holland series of the show will be aired in the UK via the company’s streaming platform, WOW Presents Plus, and will be shown in the Netherlands on RTL’s Dutch platform, Videoland.
“It’s fantastic to work with RTL and Vincent TV on launching a Dutch version of the franchise,” Bailey and Barbato contined, “but it’s also a privilege to be able to bring this brilliant new series to an international audience too. We know fans won’t be disappointed.”
