Sully (Kano) is back from a stint in jail, Dushane (Ashley Walters) is stirring up his connections in Jamaica and they’re about to rebuild their Summerhouse drug empire. But there’s a new top boy on the estate, Jamie (Micheal Ward), and he won’t be giving it up easy.
Top Boy was discontinued back in 2013 by Channel 4 after two highly successful seasons but made a sudden return to media attention in 2017 when Drake announced he would be reviving the TV drama, which is set on an east London estate. Well, with the support of Netflix and Skepta, Top Boy is back with a third, highly anticipated season that features none other than Dave and Little Simz as lead characters.
The new season of the show follows the recent release of HBO’s Euphoria earlier this year, another Drake-produced show. “We met up to start talking about the show and we are working out a role for him,” Walters told the Mirror before the new season of Top Boy went into production.
Expect plenty of gunslinging, car chasing and complex familial relationships as the fight for “food” unravels the East London estate. The series premieres September 13 on Netflix. Watch the trailer below.
