The school theme is evident in many of the garments: there were white shirts and neckties, a duffel coat, a blazer with a crest, all with a sense of being adapted and embellished – much like teenagers do with their own uniforms. Alongside these more austere pieces, there were rich and intricate floral patterns throughout – this is where the Flemish art influence came into play, alongside other pieces like decorative kimonos.
