Chavarria’s América was an honest and hard-hitting collection infused with a call for unity. Latin Grammy-nominated artists Yahritza Y Su Esencia performed a cover of the 1984 classic “Querida” by Juan Gabriel before the show, and the runway collection was split into two halves. The first was classic workwear with tucked-in ties, and keys dangling from belt loops, paying homage to the working-class uniform. The second was quarter-zip jackets, jerseys, and shorts, all part of Chavarria’s new adidas collaboration and worn by major athletes like track and field sprinter (and former Dazed cover star) Noah Lyles.
