When Charles Jeffrey first graduated from CSM in 2015, his collections opened a chink hole into east London’s queer scene: Vogue Fabrics, SOPHIE remixes, and the kind of people that wore face paint to warehouse parties in Hackney Wick – which is also a list of things that are now pastiched by meme accounts like DalstonSuperstoned and Socks_House_Meeting on Instagram. For AW23, however, Jeffrey made the unexpected decision to untether himself from London, choosing to stage his first ever collection in Milan.
