Soshiotsuki, Torishéju and Steve O Smith just won the LVMH Prize

Japanese designer Soshi Otsuki took home the top prize for 2025, while London brands bagged the two smaller awards

Each year, the LVMH Prize offers up the best in global fashion talent, and 2025 was a particularly bumper year. The finalists included Dazed faves like Tolu Coker, Zomer and All-In (who’s just changed its name to August Barron), and the semi-finalist list was also stacked, with the likes of Renaissance Renaissance, Nicklas Skovgaard, Sinead O’Dwyer, Alainpaul and Yasmin Mansour on the list. But, of course, there can only be one winner (or three winners to be precise) and the lucky trio have just been announced at a fancy ceremony in the heart of Paris.

First up was Japanese designer Soshi Otsuki and his eponymous brand Soshiotsuki, who took home the main LVMH Prize: a €400,000 cash injection into his brand and a year-long mentorship from a top LVMH team. After graduating from Japan’s esteemed Bunka Fashion College, Otsuki founded his label in 2015, and was first nominated for the LVMH Prize back in 2016. According to the LVMH website Otsuki’s design philosophy “comes from a personal interest in Japanese classical performing arts” and he “transforms the idea of Japanese traditions into fashion through detailed craftsmanship and expert tailoring.”

Next up was British designer Torishéju Dumi, whose label Torishéju picked up the Savoir-Faire Prize, and Amsterdam-born Steve O Smith, whose London-based brand won the Karl Lagerfeld Prize. Both winners bagged a €200,000 prize each and their own LVMH mentor teams, too.

The three winners have a lot to celebrate, having won over a veritable who’s who of fashion greats on the judging panel. This year’s jury included newly-minted Dior creative director Jonathan Anderson, Givenchy’s Sarah Burton, Louis Vuitton’s Nicolas Ghesquière, plus Marc Jacobs, Phoebe Philo, Nigo, Stella McCartney and Silvia Venturini Fendi.
