Mother has arrived! Rihanna announces third pregnancy at the Met Gala

Don't expect a new album any time soon

Looks like Rihanna fans will have to wait even longer for new music, the Barbadian singer just announced her third pregnancy on the Met Gala red carpet. As everyone else was arriving on the Met steps earlier this evening, a notoriously late Rihanna pulled up to the Carlyle hotel to start getting ready. Shuffling into the hotel, the star was snapped in new season Miu Miu, with a fur shawl concealing an obvious baby bump.

Then, several hours later, she arrived on the red carpet wearing custom Marc Jacobs, baby bump now framed by an oversized pin-striped suit jacket tied around her waist and worn as a skirt. The look also featured a cropped suit jacket, a corsetted top that curved over her bump, a polka dot neck tie and looming black hat.

After announcing her and A$AP Rocky’s second child (Riot Rose) during her Super Bowl halftime show back in 2023, Rih just took pregnancy announcements to a whole new level with her third. What a way to be introduced to the world. A$AP, who is a co-chair of this year’s gala, arrived earlier this evening and will no doubt be awaiting his partner inside.

In fact, Rihanna’s last Met moment also featured a baby bump. During 2023’s red carpet – when the theme was Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty – she proudly displayed her bump wearing custom Valentino couture. She announced her first child, RZA, wearing hot pink vintage Chanel, denim jeans and gold body chains. If more babies mean more major Rihanna fashion moments, keep them coming.
