Street style AW25: The sun finally shone on Paris Fashion Week

After the damp squib weather back in January, the street style gods decided to shine on Paris for the womenswear shows

Back in January, we reported that the courageous souls at Paris Fashion Week men’s had braved torrential rain to make it to their favourite fashion shows. How did they find the strength to face 3mm of drizzle while wearing new season Rick Owens? I guess we’ll never know! Despite that damp squib season, it seems that, for the womenswear shows, the fashion gods decided to smile down on Paris Fashion Week, bestowing the French capital with rays of sunshine just in time for the AW25 shows.

On the ground, showgoers dashed through the city in all manner of weather-appropriate garb. A giant floral dress from Comme des Garçons, double-breasted coats in madras print check and huge tulle dresses in crimson and pink all channelled the Spring-like climes the city was experiencing. While some basked in the sunlight in shorts and t-shirts, others wrapped up in voluminous puffer coats, proving that, sometimes, a bit of sunshine can often be deceiving.

Sunglasses were – of course – the order of the day, with kids across the city donning snazzy silver pairs you might buy from a petrol station, chic tortoiseshell Miu Miu numbers and every style in between. Elsewhere on the accessories front, just like last year bag charms and dangly trinkets were as popular as ever, with showgoers decorating their backpacks and totes with cartoon plushies and souvenir keyrings. Let’s hope the sun sticks around for as many seasons as the bag charms.
