Vespa slithers into the Year of the Snake with new capsule collection

The scooter brand ventures into clothing for the second time in celebration of the Chinese Lunar New Year

If you were to look for a list of Vespas in television and film, you would find yourself on an everlasting doom scroll filled with screengrabs from everything including old Italian classics and the James Bond franchise, to shows such as The White Lotus and Gossip Girl. This is because, since the brand’s inception in 1946, Vespa has remained at the forefront of stylish and understated luxury scooters.

Last year, the brand ventured into clothing for the first time with a Varsity Jacket, released to celebrate the Year of the Dragon in the Chinese lunar calendar. It was followed by a full summer capsule collection featuring several different accessories and garments. Now, a year later Vespa is ushering in the Year of the Snake with a new capsule collection perfect for travelling during the winter months.

Entitled ‘Vespa Snake Capsule’, the collection leans into androgyny, layering icy, iridescent tones over winter staples like bomber jackets, tailored tracksuits, and knitwear made from soft cashmere blends. Using intricate snake embroidery motifs and graffiti-inspired snake graphics, the collection also features a range of oversized puffer jackets.

If the clothes were not enough, the collection also coincides with the release of the brand’s limited edition Vespa 946 Snake scooter – a shimmering blue vehicle that embodies the spirit of the snake and pairs effortlessly with the capsule’s aesthetic. Matching accessories, including biker gloves and scarves, allow for the wearer to embrace the collection’s energy both on and off the vehicle.

Shop the Vespa Snake Capsule and Vespa 946 Snake scooter online and at Vespa’s pop-up at Galeries Lafayette Champs-Elysés, which is open until February 5.
