Legendary artist Judy Chicago bags a Dior campaign

Chicago is the new star of the French house’s Lady 95.22 tote

Maria Grazia Chiuri loves Judy Chicago

The designer first joined forces with the pioneering artist back in 2020, when she got her to create a womb-like installation in which her SS20 Dior Haute Couture show took place. It was, the artist explained, “a paean to masculinity” and explored the idea that if women were the ones largely in charge of designing buildings, perhaps they’d be a lot less phallic.

Now, Chiuri has lured Chicago back into the Dior fold once more, as she reveals her new Lady 92.55 bag campaign. With the artist starring front and centre, in a series of slick images captured by photographer Brigitte Lacombe, the campaign celebrates a new take on a classic style – all sleek black leather, quilting, and chic gold accents.

The campaign’s release coincides with the opening of Chicago’s groundbreaking new show Herstory. Taking place at the New Museum in New York City, the exhibition brings together past and new works by Chicago and is itself supported by Dior. Women supporting women: you just j’adore to see it.
