Sweat-drenched and rain-soaked street style looks from NYFW

Dazed’s fashion week photographer Cris Fragkou snapped the best dressed attendees at the Big Apple’s SS24 shows

The SS24 shows are now well underway, with one city down, and three to go. A recap on New York: the sun and some seriously wild temperatures turned everyone into a sweaty mess, the rain poured and turned everyone into a soaked mess, Anna Delvey threw a fashion show on house arrest, Elena Velez turned the runway into a mud bath, Collina Strada’s models were super-stressed, and Luar and Willy Chavarria – some of the most exciting designers staging shows in the Big Apple right now – closed things out with two stellar shows.

Beyond the catwalk, NYFW attendees like Rachel Sennott, Julia Fox, Mariacarla Boscono, and Paramore’s Hayley Williams still turned it out despite the adverse weather conditions, and Dazed’s fashion week photographer Cris Fragkou was there to capture them all – in-between dashing between shows and catching all the action backstage. Looks on show ranged from fantastical, frou-frou gowns in kaleidoscopic colours, to avant-garde pieces by designers like Elena Velez and Grace Ling paired with battered denim, to functional stuff thrown on to beat the elements. But the hottest accessory? A tube of sun cream, and an umbrella.
