This fashion mentorship scheme is championing underrepresented talent

The Wall Group Incubator is pairing young creatives with industry heavyweights in a bid to democratise the industry

Since its inception in the year 2000, the talent agency The Wall Group has been a leader in its field, with top styling talent like Charlotte Stockdale and Katie Lyall on their books, and offices in New York, LA, London and Paris. After two successful cycles across the pond, the company is now bringing its TWG Incubator scheme to London for a brand new round of mentorship.

The programme, which kicks off on January 26, pairs up-and-coming creatives with artists managed by The Wall Group in a bid to broaden the horizons of a infamously exclusive industry. It’s a necessary endeavour that the company is solidly committed to, with TWG’s SVP and managing director Ali Bird stating that “furthering access for historically underrepresented artists is key to ensuring our industry’s growth and evolution”.

The London cycle will be spearheaded by four industry heavyweights working across a breadth of creative practices. Paired with Chaniel Corrine Abwola, Man About Town magazine’s fashion director Way Perry will be taking the reins of the styling mentorship, having worked with a bevy of top-tier clientele including Robert Pattinson and Aaron Taylor-Johnson. Joining Perry on the roster is hair expert Stefan Bertin (paired with Jessica Hau), who’s styled the tresses of Alva Claire and Addison Rae, and is also an ambassador for the Black hair care brand SheaMoisture UK.

Completing the quartet is make-up artist Naoko Scintu (paired with Crystal White) and her little black book of A-list clients (Florence Pugh, anyone?), while Penny Mills (Nana-Yaw Mensah), whose studio has created spaces for Dover Street Market and Burberry, is leading the Set Design mentorship.
