Golf le Fleur Gianno shoe by Tyler, the Creator for ConverseCourtesy of Converse

Tyler, the Creator’s new Converse proves big shoes are going nowhere

After getting inspired by the brand’s archive for his previous styles, he’s created the Gianno, an entirely unseen silhouette

Tyler, the Creator’s got a new shoe with Converse, and it probably isn’t what you were expecting. After a run of reimagined takes on Converse’s streamlined staples like the One Star and Chuck Taylor, he unveiled the never before seen Gianno silhouette yesterday on Instagram. A mix of 90s tech running and outdoor utility silhouettes, he played on its decidedly more thicc form in a series of images which see the shoe supersized, @itsmaysmemes style.

The Gianno is the result of an almost three year collaboration under his Golf Wang label’s offshoot Golf le Fleur, which started back in 2017 when he created a take on the One Star in a variety of pastel colours with stitching in the shape of the signature Golf Wang flower.

The new shoe has been unveiled to mark Camp Flog Gnaw, Tyler’s annual music festival in LA. This weekend will see Solange, Blood Orange, BrockhamptonSlowthai and more take to the stage over two days.

As well as the Gianno, Tyler’s also launching a new Chuck Taylor 70, this time in the same baby pink as his “Igor” album cover with collegiate-inspired felt lettering.

Tyler himself paid a visit to his Golf Wang store on LA’s Fairfax Ave on Friday afternoon, where an orderly queue of kids had already formed outside for a surprise drop. As for the rest of the world, they’ll have to wait until the official launch on November 11 to get a pair.
