Kendall Jenner obviously needs little introduction. Although, in Reserved’s new AW19 campaign, the supermodel transforms into a cast of characters that you might recognise from elsewhere. Set against the backdrop of a baroque Italian villa, a short film directed by Gordon Von Steiner sees Jenner playing dress-up in the Polish fashion brand’s latest collection. With the help of 1960s-inspired make-up from Isamaya Ffrench and multiple wigs courtesy of hairstylist Syd Hayes, we’re feeling the fantasy.
Wigs aside, the campaign pays homage to European cinema and is suitably titled #CiaoKendall!, with Jenner playing the roles of a Milanese aristocrat, a young Sophia Loren (complete with high-waisted leather pencil skirt and mesh bralette), and Natalie Portman’s character Matilda from Luc Besson’s cult film Léon. Naturally, there is also some Jean Luc Godard-style choreography and highly tasteful nudity.
The most surreal metaphorphosis, however, arrives at the moment Jenner takes a running leap into a swimming pool in a 1990s grunge look, growing a mermaid tail as soon as she hits the water.
