Universal Standard’s new sample sale will benefit Planned Parenthood

The inclusive label is set to launch a huge online sale with 50 per cent of profits going to the American organisation fighting for women’s rights

At a time when female reproductive rights are being challenged on a daily basis all around the world, now is the time for those who believe in a woman’s right to choose to come forward and show their support in the ongoing fight for autonomy. Stepping up to pledge allegiance to that very cause is inclusive, US-based fashion label Universal Standard, which today launches an online sample sale which will directly benefit Planned Parenthood

Featuring a huge number of its bestselling styles – including ethically made dresses, hoodies, and t-shirts in a wide range of sizes – 50 per cent of all profits will be donated to the American organisation, which offers sexual health services including access to safe abortions to those who need them, and has been severely threatened during Donald Trump’s presidency. “Planned Parenthood is lucky to have Universal Standard as a fierce supporter in our fight to protect sexual and reproductive freedom,” explains PP’s President and CEO of New York City, Laura McQuade, of the project.

The label joins a number of others within the fashion industry supporting Planned Parenthood’s critical cause. In June, Marc Jacobs and Miley Cyrus teamed up to create an oversized hoodie bearing the messages ‘Don’t Fuck With My Freedom’ with all proceeds donated to the organisation. Earlier this year Alessandro Michele also showed his support for a woman’s right to choose with his SS20 Gucci Cruise collection. Among the typically eclectic offering were a series of pieces featuring embroidered and jewelled uteruses, alongside the statement ‘My Body, My Choice’.

With the sale running from July 23 – July 31 now is your chance to get your hands on heavily discounted pieces while helping a truly worthy cause. So… what are you waiting for?
