Watering cans are so hot for SS20 according to Fendi

The Italian label’s latest collection drew inspiration from the garden, with a new collaborative print by ‘Call Me By Your Name’ director Luca Guadagnino

With LFWM and Florence’s Pitti Uomo already under our belts, today the menswear edition of Milan draws to a close. Last up is the Fendi show, as Silvia Venturini presents what she has in store for us come SS20. You know the drill by now: here’s everything you missed.

SILVIA TOOK IT OUTSIDE

For a good few seasons, Fendi shows have taken place in the same space in Milan, but for SS20, Silvia Venturini clearly fancied some fresh air. Set in a beautiful garden lush with greenery, the models made their way round a gravel garden path to a soundtrack composed by the legendary Ryuichi Sakamoto

...AND THE COLLECTION WAS SUITABLY BOTANIC-THEMED

Featuring oversized waxed jackets, relaxed trousers, and loose shirts, all in muted green, fawn, and neutral hues. Elsewhere were a series of denim looks made up of all-in-one jumpsuits and cargo shorts, as well as long, dress-like tunics bearing botanic prints.

LUCA GUADAGNINO CREATED A PRINT

Having worked with the likes of Hey Reilly and Nico Vascellari, Fendi’s latest guest designer comes in the form of Call Me By Your Name director Luca Guadagnino. His muted geometric print was seen across a series of shirts, tunics, and accessories – which we could definitely see Oliver or Elio wearing come SS20.

WATERING CANS ARE SO HOT FOR SS20

Do not adjust your sets. In-keeping with the collection’s garden theme, a number of models carried Fendi watering cans (green fingers, but make it fashion). Other accessories included FF-logo bucket hats, straw picnic baskets and new iterations of the iconic Fendi baguette (nope, it’s not going anywhere).
