Steven Meisel shoots his model clone for new Loewe campaign

It’s Steven Meisel... by Steven Meisel

What’s better than one Steven Meisel? Two Steven Meisel’s, according to Loewe, who today release a preview of their SS19 collection by way of three images that currently are plastered up and down Paris. Seemingly featuring Meisel himself, look closer and you’ll realise it’s actually his model clone – but the images are in fact the photographer’s own handiwork.

Taking on the role of the iconic fashion figure is model Oscar Kindelan, who perfectly captures his recognisable style and stance in the Polaroid picture that features in the campaign. Another image, also by Meisel, shows British actor and Loewe Men’s ambassador Josh O’Connor in a colourful jumper and sunglasses from the new collection against a beach backdrop reminiscent of previous seasons.

The third image announces the launch of the Mini Gate – a smaller version of the brand’s signature Gate bag – as shot by Adrien Toubiana and Thomas Cristiani. Stay tuned for more images of the whole SS19 menswear collection.
