Virgil Abloh and Jenny Holzer are teaming up again

In support of Planned Parenthood LA, the designer and artist have created a collection of tees

Since Trump’s election, Planned Parenthood has been at risk of losing important funding, but it seems to have found itself an ally in fashion. While the CFDA created badges worn by the likes of Anna Wintour, Proenza Schouler went down the route of a star-studded film – in which Hari Nef and Grimes discussed ideas of femininity. Now, Off-White’s Virgil Abloh and artist Jenny Holzer have pooled their talents to support the non-profit organisation.

In support of the LA branch of PP, the pair have designed a limited edition run of t-shirts created by Everybody.World featuring Planned Parenthood’s mission statement on the back. Commissioned by Sexy Beast – an organisation which runs events and collabs to raise money for Planned Parenthood LA – the front of the tees are printed with one of Holzer’s iconic truisms. Reading ‘Abuse Of Power Comes As No Surprise’, the other two designs have the also relevant ‘Abuse Of Flower Comes As No Surprise’.

Of course, this isn’t the first time the duo have come together creatively, collaborating on Off-White’s SS18 collection that had an orange t-shirt with ‘I’ll Never Forgive The Ocean’ printed on the back as its invite as well as featuring truisms on the clothing. Not to mention the giant projection on the side of the venue, that the models walked beneath. The partnership is obviously politically charged, with Abloh telling us back in June, “Our work is weighted. It’s not just fashion for fashion’s sake.”

The t-shirts are available from December 4, with all proceeds going to Planned Parenthood LA.
