What went down at Dazed and VanMoof’s joyride around Berlin

To celebrate the launch of the new S6 series, DJ Fuckoff, her community, and Dazed Clubbers hit Berlin’s streets for a joyride, that ended in the energetic Joyride Stop at Nature’s Calling Winery

On any given night in Berlin, the city is alive and thumping as basslines dribble out of basement venues and side street winebars. Last week, on October 9, it was no exception, as some 300 guests spilt out of Nature’s Calling Winery as VanMoof celebrated their S6 launch with a night of drinks, giveaways, DJ sets and test rides of the new bike. And while we’re a firm believer that there doesn’t need to be a reason to party, this occasion certainly called for one, as guests blew off steam after a day spent joyriding throughout the city.

Here’s what went down throughout the day and night.

THERE WAS A MASS RIDE AROUND BERLIN

Pedalling it back to before the party, hours earlier, guests were cruising through the buzzing city as they swarmed through the distinct roads and neighbourhoods that make Berlin a hub of energy. Following the lead of host DJ Fuckoff, riders took a route that promised (and delivered) a ride like no other. The S6 left lasting impressions on all riders, giving them a taste of what makes the new series so special.

DJ FUCKOFF LED THE CHARGE

Who better to host The Joyride through Berlin than DJ Fuckoff? Having found her own pocket of community in the city some years ago, she’s got the best spots down. It’s this community she turned to when creating The Joyride map, including stops at Berlin hotspots with recommendations, including Miss Bashful, Hedda, and DJ AYA.

THEY RODE OUT THE NIGHT AT THE AFTERPARTY

The Joyride Stop kept the momentum going as some 300 riders, guests, and Dazed Clubbers filled Nature’s Calling Winery, moving between the merch stand, test rides on the new VanMoof S6, and thumping DJ sets as they saw out the night.

Some well-needed fuel came courtesy of local spots, with guests enjoying organic wines from Nature’s Calling, canned cocktails from Ghost Labs, cult-favourite coconut water from Fountain of Youth, and Kombucha from BOUCHE – all paired with pizza from local favourite Detroit-style ‘Fergy Pizza’.

THE DJ’S KICKED THE NIGHT UP A GEAR

If stamina showed any signs of faltering at this point (we wouldn’t blame them), Rafiki and DJ AYA got behind the decks to keep the BPM pumping as partygoers let loose on the floor. Attendees even picked up copies of The Joyride maps, already planning their next VanMoof ventures around the city.
