New Yorkers! Sign up to attend Dazed x ARNETTE’s NYFW Skate Jam

Filled with competitions and skate schools, the lineup includes Gang Corp, Dede Lovelace from The Skate Kitchen, Father Bop, Heron Preston, Beatrice Domond and The Harold Hunter Foundation

Throughout the late 90s and early 00s, eyewear brand ARNETTE went from an idea born in a car garage in California to a label popular among skate communities around the world. Now to celebrate its legacy, ARNETTE has partnered with Dazed to throw a Sunday Skate Jam and give the next generation of skateboarding enthusiasts a place to come together and enjoy themselves. Alongside the event, ARNETTE is celebrating one of its classic and most iconic styles, the Catfish.

Taking place on September 10, during NYC fashion week, the Skate Jam will be held at Seret Studio in Greenpoint, Brooklyn with our very special host for the day, Father Bop.

The widely respected Harold Hunter Foundation, a non-profit organisation that aims to honour the life of legendary Lower East Side skater Harold Atkins Hunter and “harness the power of skateboarding to transform lives”, will kick off proceedings with a beginners’ Skate Clinic. Stepping up next is Dede Lovelace of the much-celebrated skate collective The Skate Kitchen; Dede will host a Skate School teaching tips and tricks to intermediate-level skaters. One of NYC’s most exciting skate crews Gang Corp, founded by Duron Simons and known in the city for their guerrilla-style skate videos and rising fashion label, will be there for a high-energy, 30-minute mini ramp takeover. Then Miami-born skate icon Beatrice Domond will invite people to take part in a skate competition with special prizes to be won.

Alongside all of this, there will be food from famous LES restaurant Scarr’s Pizza, chill areas for those that just want to hangout, drinks by Rosaluna and DJ sets from Father Bop and Dede Lovelace and a special closing set from designer and DJ Heron Preston. Whether you’re a pro skater, a beginner, or not even a skater at all but want to come hang out, the event is open to all and will have something for everyone.
