Exploring themes of inheritance, loss, and belonging, and their effects on personal and interpersonal narratives, Dazed100er Julianknxx's practice crosses the boundaries of written word, music, visual art and installation. Born in Sierra Leone and raised in London, the multi-disciplinary artist uses his personal history as a prism through which to deconstruct dominant perspectives on African art, ideas, history and culture.
Rich with symbolism and complex layering, Julianknxx's work takes on the ongoing task of defining ourselves through the rejection of extrinsic labels, and repositioning ourselves within new collective narratives.
